- 7 buildings; 350 MW on-site gas plant (Herald-Standard Sep 2 testimony)
Seven-building data-center campus proposed on ~155 acres in Hanover Township, Washington County (Routes 18/22 park). Prime Data Centers testified before the Hanover Board of Supervisors in early September 2026 to a ~1.8 million square foot campus with a 350 MW on-site natural-gas plant fed by a Rover lateral and closed-loop cooling. Earlier WPXI and WESA coverage cited ~1.7M sq ft and 450 MW; the Herald-Standard's September 2 reporting is preferred. Prime filed in May 2026; conditional-use hearings are scheduled for Monday Sep 21, Thursday Sep 24, Tuesday Sep 29, and Wednesday Sep 30, 2026, at 6pm at the Hanover Township VFD Hall, 9 Starck Drive, Burgettstown. A DEP air permit is pending. If approved, Prime has said construction could start in early 2027.
This proposal has not been approved. The megawatt figure is generator capacity for the on-site plant, not IT load published by the developer. WPXI (Aug 31) and WESA (Aug 7) reported 450 MW and ~1.7M sq ft; the Herald-Standard (Sep 2) attributed ~1.8M sq ft and 350 MW to developer testimony at the hearing, and we cite that as the preferred figure. Tax calculations are not included because the MW figure is generation capacity and no IT load has been published.
